What we do

Friends of Priory is steered by an enthusiastic committee of parents and teachers who wish to help the school by :

  • - planning social events for Priory parents and students
  • - fundraising on behalf of the school
  • - raising the profile of Priory and encouraging community links with other organizations
  • - providing refreshments at events attended by all members of the school community

If you would like to meet other Priory parents and could spare a couple of hours once a term, please join us in providing refreshments at drama, music and dance performances as well as parents' evenings. Alternatively, you could join the Friends of Priory committee and take part in our occasional short meetings about fundraising for the school. We usually hold a termly fund raising event, and last year we raised over £4,000.

In the last couple of years we have made substantial financial contributions including :

  • Funding the cost of the subscription to Link Ethiopia to kickstart the school link project
  • Art Exhibition equipment and frames
  • CAMM 1 Plotter – Laser Cutter and Extraction for the Design Technology Department
  • Quizdom Audience response System
  • Training for Student Leaders
  • I Can Present green-screen technology
  • Art Exhibition equipment and frames
  • Additional PSHE teaching materials
  • Additional Foundation learning teaching materials
  • Raising £12,000 for the outdoor shelters
  • Organising the Fashion Show and Priory Music Festival

    About our old logo

The Friends’ original logo was designed by former student Honor Tory in 2003. Her illustration shows linked hands representing friendship, with symbols at each corner depicting the elements Air, Earth, Fire and Water (the names of the School houses to which children and members of staff belong). All are connected with a rainbow of peace and harmony.
