SSIF
The SSIF project is aimed at reducing exclusions and improving attendance among SEND and disadvantaged pupils across 19 East Sussex secondary schools, including those within the Hastings Opportunity Area. Establishing a Secondary Inclusion Partnership of mainstream and special schools will enable target schools to benefit from the support and expertise of peers. Partner schools shape the project by suggesting appropriate amendments such as a focus on improving transition for in year admissions.
The project focuses on the following areas:
- Securing quality first teaching to personalise learning for pupils
- Developing the knowledge and leadership capacity of specialist school leaders through peer networks and training
- Engaging senior school leaders in review and peer review of their inclusion strategies and practice
- Improving transition from key stage 2-3
This project draws on the expertise of school leaders from schools in East Sussex and other parts of the south east region, building a sustainable partnership founded on successful practice.
