Cover Supervisor

Priory is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake.  The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint:

A dedicated and flexible person to undertake the role of Cover Supervisor, who in the absence of a class teacher, will supervise students in the school or department under the supervisory arrangements established by the school.  An interest in education and the ability to deliver ideas and concepts to an audience of young people would be desirable.

This is an ideal opportunity if you are looking to become a teacher in the future and want experience of a secondary education setting or are passionate about working in schools.

The actual salary is £16,191 to £17,017 a year for 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday and the position is term time only plus inset days.  The salary is based on grade Single Status grade 4/5 scale points 9-13, £23,114-£24,293.

Teaching Assistants - Oak Centre

TEACHING ASSISTANTS (Oak Centre) 

To start September/October 2024 

 

Priory School is a happy and thriving Secondary School based in Lewes, East Sussex. It is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The Governors are seeking to recruit 2 Teaching Assistants, 1 permanent and 1 temporary until July 2025, experienced in working with students with Special Educational Needs and in particular, students with Autism.   

These roles are based within the Oak Centre (ASC Support Centre) and includes supporting the Lead teacher and HLTA with leading classes within the facility, as well as supporting children and their class teachers with differentiating activities within mainstream lessons.  You will be working with outstanding SEN professionals and teachers.  

These roles are suitable for candidates who: 

  • Are confident, proactive and dedicated 

  • Are able to demonstrate creative behaviour management skills and teaching styles 

  • Have good academic qualifications and people skills 

The actual yearly salary is £16,191 to £16,462.  The hours of work are 30 hours a week term time only and to include inset days (39 working weeks and 45.05 paid weeks a year), 8.30 a.m. to 3.15 p.m.  The salary is based on Single Status Grade 4, points 9-10, £23,114 to £23,500.

The Governors wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work in the main school site experienced in working with students with Special Educational Needs. The post involves providing dedicated support to individuals and groups of students. An ideal candidate would have some experience of working with students with Dyslexia and/or Speech and Language difficulties. An interest in supporting students with Maths would be an advantage but not essential.

The hours of work are 30 hours a week Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 3.15 p.m. (term time plus inset days). If you would prefer to work less than 30 hours a week, please indicate on your application form your preferred hours and days of work.

The actual salary is £16,191 to £16,462 a year for 30 hours a week term time (plus inset days) Monday to Friday. The salary is based on Single Status, Grade 4, Spinal points 9 to 10, £23,114 to £23,500. If you would prefer to work less than 30 hours a week please include this in your application.
