Priory is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake.  The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint:

A dedicated and flexible person to undertake the role of Cover Supervisor, who in the absence of a class teacher, will supervise students in the school or department under the supervisory arrangements established by the school.  An interest in education and the ability to deliver ideas and concepts to an audience of young people would be desirable.

This is an ideal opportunity if you are looking to become a teacher in the future and want experience of a secondary education setting or are passionate about working in schools.

The actual salary is £14,776 to £15,046 a year for 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday and the position is term time only.  The salary is based on grade Single Status grade 4 spinal column points 9-10, £21,189-£21,575.

Subject Leader - Computing

Priory is a very successful school, graded “Good” by OFSTED. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake. The computing area is made up of 3 staff: 3 part time teachers. The Governors wish to appoint the following:

 

A permanent, Subject Leader for Computing, full-time or part-time considered.  The key responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading the development of specified projects to raise attainment, enhance provision and increase participation in the Curriculum Area.
  • To be accountable for the oversight of learning of all students in the Computing area.
  • To support the co-ordination of the work of teaching staff and other relevant personnel within the Subject Area.
  • To assist in targeting learning resources to support the diverse make-up of the student body. 
  • To lead the coordination of extra-curricular activities.

 

Candidates will be outstanding teachers of Computer Science as well as Information Technology and will have a high level of programming ability along with experience of teaching Python 3. Knowledge of other languages would be desirable. Candidates will also be able to learn and teach new productivity software across both key stages.

 

KS4 courses include:

  • OCR Computer Science GCSE - develops understanding and application of the core concepts in Computer Science. 
  • OCR Cambridge National Creative iMedia - Creative iMedia equips students with the wide range of knowledge and skills needed to work in the creative digital media sector.

The salary is Teachers pay scale £28,000 to £43,685 plus £5,024 (TLR2b).

A dedicated and flexible person to undertake the role of a temporary Academic Tutor, who will support students in small group settings and work alongside the curriculum in Math’s or English. The purpose will be to develop students understanding to ensure that they make the best possible rates of academic progress.

Priory is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint a temporary Teacher of Science, 0.8 FTE to cover maternity leave from April 2023, to work within the Science Curriculum Area for Key stages 3 and 4.  

The Science Curriculum Area occupies 8 specialist laboratories and is led by a Curriculum Leader who is supported by a Deputy Curriculum Leader, and two Assistant Curriculum Leaders, 8 further Teachers and 3 Science Technicians. 

Candidates need to have:

 

  • A commitment to high expectations, with the ability to inspire and challenge students.
  • Develop targeted learning resources to support the diverse make-up of the student body. 
  • A proven track record of impacting upon students' learning.
  • The ability to teach Science at KS3 and KS4.
  • A clear understanding of current and future curriculum developments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The attributes to be a strong form tutor.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.

The salary scale for this vacancy is Teachers pay range, £28,000 to £43,685.

A Teaching Assistant fixed term until 21st July 2023, experienced in working with students with Special Educational Needs.  The post involves providing dedicated support to individuals and groups of students.  An ideal candidate would have some experience of working with students with Dyslexia and/or Speech and Language difficulties.

The actual salary is £14,776 to £15,046 a year for 30 hours a week term time (plus inset days) Monday to Friday.   The salary is based on Single Status, Grade 4, Spinal points 9 to 10, £21,189 to £21,575.
