Cover Supervisor

Priory is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake.  The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint:

A dedicated and flexible person to undertake the role of Cover Supervisor, who in the absence of a class teacher, will supervise students in the school or department under the supervisory arrangements established by the school.  An interest in education and the ability to deliver ideas and concepts to an audience of young people would be desirable.

This is an ideal opportunity if you are looking to become a teacher in the future and want experience of a secondary education setting, or are passionate about working in schools.

The salary grade is Single Status grade 4 spinal column points 9-10, £18,426-£18,795.  The actual salary is £13,216 to £13,480 a year for 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday and the position is term time only.

Higher Learning Teaching Assistant - with Autism Specialism

30 hours a week, term time

To Start September 2020

Priory School is a happy and thriving Secondary School based in Lewes, East Sussex.  The Governors are recruiting a Higher Learning Teaching Assistant, with an Autism Specialism to start in September 2020.  This role is based in the ASD facility and includes supporting the SEN Teacher with leading classes within the facility and in mainstream lessons, supporting SEN children and Teaching Assistants.  Working with outstanding SEN professionals, Teachers, SENCOs, parents and Educational Psychologists.

The role is suitable for candidates with:

  • HLTA qualification (desirable) or evidence of senior SEN support role
  • You must be confident, proactive and dedicated
  • Good academics across GCSE & A Level is essential
  • Ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists or SEN professionals or Psychology Graduate with ASD experience.

The successful applicant will be offered CPD and additional training throughout and be supported by specialist SEN professionals. 

The salary is Single Status grade 8, Points 20 - 21, £22,966 to £24,805, actual salary is £16,472 to £17,791 a year for 30 hours per week working term time to include inset days.

A well-qualified, innovative and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama, for this popular and successful subject area. Drama is part of the Visual & Performing Arts curriculum area, which also includes Dance, Art, Photography and Music. An ability to teach KS3 is essential.  

Annual school productions and a rich extra-curricular programme are well established and the successful candidate will be expected to build on this.   Art, Music, Dance and Drama each have their own specialist accommodation.

This is a temporary part-time, maternity leave vacancy to work 0.5 or 0.6 FTE.  The salary scale is Teachers Main/Upper pay scale.

Priory School is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake. The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint:

A permanent, full-time, Teacher of Science to start in September 2020, to work within the Science Curriculum Area for Key stages 3 and 4.   An ability to teach Computing would be desirable.

The Science Curriculum Area occupies 8 specialist laboratories and is led by a Curriculum Leader who is supported by a Deputy Curriculum Leader, and two Assistant Curriculum Leaders, 8 further Teachers and 2 Science Technicians. 
The salary scale for this vacancy is Teachers main/upper pay range, £24,373 to £40,490 a year.
