Priory is a very successful school, graded “Good” by OFSTED. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake. The computing area is made up of 3 staff: 3 part time teachers. The Governors wish to appoint the following:

 

A full time, permanent, Subject Leader for Computing from September 2022.  The key responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading the development of specified projects to raise attainment, enhance provision and increase participation in the Curriculum Area.
  • To be accountable for the oversight of learning of all students in the Computing area.
  • To support the co-ordination of the work of teaching staff and other relevant personnel within the Subject Area.
  • To assist in targeting learning resources to support the diverse make-up of the student body. 
  • To lead the coordination of extra-curricular activities.

 

Candidates will be outstanding teachers of Computer Science as well as Information Technology and will have a high level of programming ability along with experience of teaching Python 3. Knowledge of other languages would be desirable. Candidates will also be able to learn and teach new productivity software across both key stages.

 

KS4 courses include:

  • OCR Computer Science GCSE - develops understanding and application of the core concepts in Computer Science. 
  • OCR Cambridge National Creative iMedia - Creative iMedia equips students with the wide range of knowledge and skills needed to work in the creative digital media sector.

The salary is Teachers pay scale £25,714 to £41,604 plus £4,784 (TLR2b)

The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint two well-qualified, talented, committed and inspiring teachers of English, one full-time, permanent and one temporary to cover the duration of maternity leave. Full or part-time will be considered for the maternity cover vacancy.  Both positions to commence on 1st September 2022.

You will be leading a team of dedicated HLTA’s / TA’s / INA’s and a Behaviour SENCO, to develop outstanding practice and provision throughout the school, in lessons or via personalised programmes of intervention. The successful candidates will be joining the Mathematics Curriculum Area, a friendly, supportive and conscientious team.  We have ten teachers, one subject specialist Teaching Assistant and are led by joint Curriculum Leaders and two Deputy Curriculum Leaders.

  • A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Senior ICT Technician

The Governors of Priory School in Lewes, East Sussex are seeking to appoint a Senior ICT Technician on a full time, permanent basis to be responsible for providing an efficient and effective ICT technical support service, and to support the maintenance and development of the School ICT resources.  Our school has excellent facilities, and we are an integral part of an interesting town within a beautiful area, at the heart of the South Downs. 

 

We are looking for a Senior ICT technician with experience providing advanced technical support and the ability to take a lead role in the delivery of day to day operational IT support and project delivery.

 

This successful candidate will be someone who:

 

  • Can demonstrate delivery of advanced technical support for Microsoft platforms and who can resolve hardware and software related issues on desktop, server and networks
  • Can co-ordinate the delivery of operational IT support from a small team of technicians
  • Can demonstrate the ability to deliver small projects and to manage IT Change
  • Can demonstrate a practical understanding of system recovery processes and of IT system security
  • Can take a lead in the support of telephony and CCTV systems
  • Can support the ICT Systems Manager in the strategic planning and development of the schools IT systems
  • Is comfortable working in a team but can also demonstrate leadership skills
  • Can input into financial planning and budget control
  • Has excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Is committed to continuous development and improvement
  • Can demonstrate an awareness of the requirements for an IT professional when working in the education sector

 

The salary scale for this vacancy is Single Status grade 9, points 23 to 25, £26,890 to £29,048 a year.
