Student Welfare and Attendance Assistant

Priory is a school where students are expected to work hard and as a result make excellent progress. Priory School is well regarded and is consistently oversubscribed.

The Governors wish to appoint a Student Welfare and Attendance Assistant.   The successful applicant will be responsible for administering First Aid support as appropriate to the pupils of the school and where necessary the staff, as well as to support, monitor and improve pupil attendance and wellbeing.

It is desirable that applicants hold a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work or equivalent and training will be provided for applicants who do not hold this qualification.  You will work closely with the House Heads and will be based in the school’s Pastoral Office alongside the Attendance Officer.

The hours of work are 37 hours a week Monday to Thursday 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and 3.30 pm. on Fridays (term time plus inset days).  If you would prefer to work less than 37 hours a week, please indicate on your application form your preferred hours and days of work.

The actual salary is £23,028 to £23,395 a year for 37 hours a week term time (plus inset days) Monday to Friday (40 working weeks, 46.20 paid weeks a year).  The salary is based on Single Status, Grade 5, spinal points 12 to 13, £25,989 to £26,403.

Teaching Assistant

(fixed term until April 2026)

The Governors wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant (fixed term until 10th April 2026), to work in the main school site experienced in working with students with Special Educational Needs.  The post involves providing dedicated support to individuals and groups of students.  An ideal candidate would have some experience of working with students with Dyslexia and/or Speech and Language difficulties.  An interest in supporting students with Maths would be an advantage but not essential.

The hours of work are 30 hours a week Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. to 3.15 p.m. term time (plus inset days).  The actual salary is £17,641 to £17,920 a year (39 working weeks, 45.05 paid weeks a year).  The salary is based on Single Status, Grade 4, spinal points 9 to 10, £25,185 to £25,583.  If you would prefer to work less than 30 hours a week, please include this in your application.
